The burgeoning field of language testing and assessment has witnessed, in recent years, the increased integration of multiple disciplines, e.g., applied linguistics, education, psychology, and computer science, which has presented numerous opportunities and challenges to language testing professionals. An interdisciplinary approach towards language testing and assessment is needed more than ever to grasp the opportunities and face the challenges.
